Scott + Jackie Wedding | The Ridge at Verterra | Northport
The scene was set. Bright blue skies against the dark blue Lake Michigan backdrop. The Ridge at Verterra was the perfect venue to showcase that Northern Michigan beauty that Scott and Jackie wanted to highlight on their wedding day. For their vows, Scott and Jackie met on the lawn in front of the serene pond with their guests in amphitheater seating to witness the scene unfold.
Immediately after the ceremony, Scott and Jackie snuck off to the shade to enjoy a few moments to themselves and soak in all the little joys of the day. There they were met with their choice drinks before Jackie shared a little secret she had been keeping—
She had hired a hot air balloon for their reception to surprise Scott!
Later on in the night, Miles went up in the basket with the two of them as they ascended high above the venue to take in the spectacular views. As the rest of the evening went on, their guests took turns riding up in the balloon themselves. Finally as the sun set below the horizon and painted everything a vibrant orange, Scott and Jackie took to the patio for their first dance with a hot air balloon backdrop.
Everything about this wedding screamed Scott and Jackie, from their spunky adventurous personalities to the wild creativity (ahem Scott building the photo wall HIMSELF) to the bright colors and scenic setting. We had so much fun with these two and were honored to photograph a few parts of their love story for both their engagement and wedding.
Congratulations once again to THE COOPERS!

Ben + Vina | Traverse City Wedding
After meeting up with Ben and Vina for their engagement session a month prior, their wedding day felt like we were celebrating friends.
Underneath some trees in a secluded area of the property, Ben and Vina joined each other for their first look and private vows until their emotions overflowed. Today was the day! They were finally going to be husband and wife! From the gorgeous sunshine reflecting off of the Lake and a picturesque ceremony on the front lawn, Ben and Vina’s wedding day was filled with beauty and so much laughter. After a sweet (and delicious) pie cutting in lieu of a traditional wedding cake, we snuck away with Ben and Vina for some golden hour photos on the water. Eventually once the sun had set beyond the horizon, we made our way back to the reception hall to end the night was some spunky dance moves.
Congratulations Ben and Vina!

Connor + Christine Engagement | Maple Bay Natural Area
It was a crisp spring evening when we met up with Connor and Christine for the first time at Maple Bay Natural Area for their engagement photos. Despite the chilly bite in the air, Connor and Christine embraced the night and kept each other close for warmth. We meandered through the fields and woods before finally ending on the beach.

The faintest glow from the sun attempted to peak through the clouds as Connor and Christine held each other, listening to the peaceful sound of small waves lapping the shoreline.
Brady + Alexa | Romantic Traverse City Engagement
Photographing these two and their love together felt straight out of a movie. With the sun flare and slow motion, passionate kisses, this engagement session had our romantic hearts a-fluttering. It was a joy to capture this small part in Brady and Alexa’s love story.
I (Sarah) went to school with Alexa growing up so I was absolutely overjoyed to see her name pop up in our inbox inquiring about engagement photos. We spent golden hour wandering around the most beautiful areas in Brown Bridge Quiet Area. Photographing these two and their love together felt straight out of a movie. Adam + Sarah Engagement | Brown Bridge Quiet Area
We enjoyed a lovely golden evening at Brown Bridge Quiet Area with Adam and Sarah as we got to know them and their sweet story:
We enjoyed a lovely golden evening at Brown Bridge Quiet Area with Adam and Sarah as we got to know them and their sweet story:
When Sarah moved to Michigan 8 years ago, she met her best friend Ashley through work. As best friends do, Ashley tried to set Sarah up with a few people in the area but no one was quite the right fit for her. The two of them joked about Sarah potentially dating Ashley’s brother, Adam (maybe you can see where this is going).
Over time, Sarah and Adam eventually became friends and they found a natural spark, comfort and ease in being together. To Ashley’s great joy, her best friend and brother finally gave the dating relationship a chance. And the rest is history!
Bryan + Alexa | Coffee Shop Engagement | Traverse City
Starting the evening at Mundos West (one of Mundos Roasting & Co. downtown locations), Miles hand-brewed a Pour Over for Bryan and Alexa to share. The two of them cozied up together at a window spot and giggled whilst they enjoyed sipping their coffees. After a quick outfit change for the both of them, they finished the last of their cups before we made our way over to the State Hospital.
Bryan and Alexa’s vision for their Traverse City engagement session came to life on this moody spring day. When Alexa shared her inspiration for some coffee shop/woodsy vibes, we knew right away the perfect locations for both.

On the outskirts of the Pines, Bryan and Alexa traipsed through the trees, envisioning and dreaming of all that was to come for their wedding day later that year.
