Ann Arbor Engagement | Matt and Rachael

When Matt and Rachael booked their wedding with us, we knew we would be doing an engagement session for them as well. It was a perfect October morning for a short road trip to Ann Arbor. Matt and Rachael were so sweet and we even brought Edith along in a baby carrier as we ventured around Nichols Arboretum finding pretty pockets of light here and there amongst the gorgeous greenery. We took our time hiking through the area, chatting and laughing with Matt and Rachael, and getting to know them and their story. It was such a lovely morning and we loved getting to hang out with them again THIS October to photograph their wedding in Traverse City.

Tom and Jenn | October Engagement

Last October, Tom reached out to us with his plans to propose to his girlfriend, Jenn. He wanted to schedule an engagement session shortly after the proposal in order to capture the beautiful Fall colors in Traverse City. The moody sky made for an even more dramatic contrast to the pops of color amongst the trees. Tom and Jenn even brought along their sweet pup to join in a few of the photos. We loved capturing and celebrating their sweet October engagement with them. Check out some of our favorites below.

Fall Color Anniversary Session | John + Sarah

John and Sarah had an intimate wedding in 2020 with plans to celebrate with a much larger group in 2021 for a big wedding reception. We photographed their October wedding and were booked for their reception the following year as well. But as time went on, they changed their plans and ended up canceling the reception altogether. Since they were still going to be up in Traverse City on their original date, we all decided on holding their date to do an anniversary session instead. It was so lovely to see them again a year later and document these portraits amongst the beautiful Fall colors. It's been an honor to photograph John and Sarah on so many occasions. Fall Color Engagement | Adam and Laura 2.0

After getting rained on during their original engagement session date, we decided to schedule a second session for Adam and Laura to hopefully spend a bit more time capturing portraits of the two of them and their sweet pup, Callie. We had beautiful weather and gorgeous colors on this day, much different than our grey and rainy twenty-minute session before. We had so much fun getting to hang out with them twice and capturing two very different scenes and circumstances with them. It just made us all the more excited for their wedding!

Kyle and Lucy | Peninsula Room Wedding

Kyle and Lucy's beautiful Peninsula Room wedding was the perfect way to wrap up our wedding season for 2021. Albeit a little windy, we had near perfect weather and had an AMAZING sunset down by the water. From an intimate first look, to a ceremony with friends and family, to dancing the night away, it was an honor to celebrate alongside Kyle and Lucy as they finally got to live out the wedding of their dreams after having to postpone the year previous.

Harbor Springs Elopement | George + Chelsea

We were so honored to photograph this unique and intimate elopement in Harbor Springs for George and Chelsea. We met the at their house where they were getting ready for their first look. Underneath the willow tree, Chelsea approached her soon to be husband and called out his name. George turned around and breathlessly took his bride in, resulting in the sweetest happy tears between them both. Their pups joined them a few moments later for a couple portraits before we set off for the vows.

Their friend officiated the ceremony for them on the water and behind them, at the end of the dock, sat their sailboat waiting. Both George and Chelsea are competitive sailors so it was really important for them to incorporate this in their elopement photos. Their friend took us out in a boat while George and Chelsea sailed beautifully across the water in their stunning sailboat. It was such a fun and unique experience for us and we were so glad to capture something so special to the two of them.

Afterward, we wrapped up with some portraits at the yacht club before the two of them rode their bikes downtown as they headed toward the restaurant for their intimate dinner for two.
