Noah and Britney | Intimate Wedding
Noah and Britney planned an intimate May wedding with their close family. When the pandemic would not allow for all of their friends and family to be present, they realized how much more important photos would be for their day.
Noah and Britney planned an intimate May wedding with their close family. When the pandemic would not allow for all of their friends and family to be present, they realized how much more important photos would be for their day.
We were so happy when Noah and Britney reached out to us to photograph their day. We started out capturing their final detail moments and planned to do some photos in the park by the water. When we arrived to the park, Britney requested a spontaneous first look with Noah. It was so sweet that their bridal party was able to witness the moment as well. Their ceremony took place on family property underneath the most beautiful birch arch.
"We have known each other for about 8 years now and have always been good friends.
I used to spend the summers in Ludington when I was younger and would stay with my grandparents... first day that I met him was at my grandparents house when my cousin brought over a friend!
We both remember that day well, and always remained good friends who cared about each other deeply until about 2 years ago when we finally decided to give dating a chance.
We have been long distance this whole time... so, as you can imagine, we are very ready to get married and be able to see each other every day!" - Britney
Pyramid Point Portraits | Zac + Joelle
Despite the chilly temperatures and slippery slopes, Zac and Joelle were up for the hike. They stood there, hand and hand with the icy blue lake stretching on and on beyond them. It created the illusion of being on top of the world.
On a beautiful snowy, February afternoon in the winter of 2020, our dear friends ventured out to Pyramid Point with us. Despite the chilly temperatures and slippery slopes, Zac and Joelle were up for the hike. They stood there, hand and hand with the icy blue lake stretching on and on beyond them. It created the illusion of being on top of the world.
'love is a choice.
sometimes we tend to believe it's just a feeling. but it's so much more than that. it's sacrifice. it's waking up everyday, dying to yourself in order to value and pour into another human being that will at one point or another 'fall short' in your eyes. it's not always easy, but when you find someone who your soul adores, you wake up with this feeling in your heart that nothing could take away and you realize just how worth it every sacrifice is.'
- Joelle
Beautiful things happen when there is trust between a couple and us. We are firm believers in the friendship between photographer and couple. When trust and relationship is established, everyone is much more comfortable. Photos no longer feel awkward, but more like a friend adventure. We always love to get to know our couples prior to and during their sessions. We feel blessed to already have been friends with this lovely couple. Because of this, and the adventurous dynamic of the shoot, we were allowed the creative freedom to capture more playful, genuine moments. They trusted us to guide and direct when needed and at the same time, we were able to take a step back, let them be and capture their real interaction together.
P.s. How freaking rad are they in their matching Blundstone boots?!

Adam and Kelly Proposal
Adam and Kelly have the sweetest love story, and we just love them together. This shoot will always and forever hold a dear place in our heart. Adam is my (Sarah’s) younger brother and Miles’ best friend.
Adam and Kelly
Adam and Kelly have the sweetest love story, and we just love them together. This shoot will always and forever hold a dear place in our heart. Adam is my (Sarah's) younger brother and Miles' best friend. We got to know Kelly while they were dating and she quickly became one of my best friends. When Adam reached out with his plans to propose, we were over the moon. The week leading up to the proposal, Miles and Adam trekked down the steep snowy slope to scout out the location. Together they found the perfect spot for Adam and Kelly as well as hidden locations for us to shoot the proposal in stealth.
Brown Bridge
The day came and we arrived to the location early. The snow had slightly melted and then refroze so the path down was more like an ice skating rink. I'm embarrassed to say that I (Sarah) had a wipe out on the way down and nailed my head on a tree root when I fell. However, nothing was going to stop me from capturing and celebrating this moment with my brother and his soon-to-be fiancée. Miles helped me back up, brushed the snow off and we continued to our respective hiding spots. We sat and waited, fingers going slightly numb in the cold and butts most definitely soaked through from sitting in the snow. Still, all of that was hardly noticeable to us in the wake our anticipation. After a little while, we heard a loud 'careful Kelly, it's slippery!' from Adam. That was our cue!
The Proposal
At the bottom of the hill, Adam took her by the hand and they looked out at the view while he chatted with her briefly. By the time he got down on his knee with the ring, I was already a mess of silent tears. We remained hidden the entire time so they could have their moment alone. Kelly had no idea that we were there, and even when Adam pointed out the spots we were hidden, they could only just see the edge of my boot from behind a tree. It wasn't until they continued on their hike and were well out of sight that we emerged and went on our way. We were able to celebrate them later which was so fun. It was so special to capture this proposal for some of our favorite people. We also both had the honor of standing in their wedding last October. We love Adam and Kelly!

Aurora Cellars Wedding | Bryan and Melissa
This Aurora Cellars Wedding was a day to remember. Located in Suttons Bay, the drive up to the vineyard is a breathtaking one. With bright sunshine, blue skies, and a warm breeze, Bryan and Melissa's Aurora Cellars wedding was a near perfect October day.
Aurora Cellars Wedding
This Aurora Cellars Wedding was a day to remember. Aurora Cellars is one of our favorite locations. Located in Suttons Bay, the drive up to the vineyard is a breathtaking one. Winslow the Willow stands tall and proud in the center of the yard as a beautiful backdrop for wedding ceremonies. Just beyond its gently swaying billows sits a pretty pond and great location for beautiful golden hour photos. Aurora Cellars' farmhouse serves as the perfect area to get ready. Those final details, touch ups, and getting into the dress are made even more special as you look out the window to your ceremony setup on side and the green vineyard stretching over the hill on the other side.
Bryan + Melissa's Day
With bright sunshine, blue skies, and a warm breeze, Bryan and Melissa's Aurora Cellars wedding was a near perfect October day. In the morning, Melissa had a first look with her brother and father, the latter who walked her down the aisle soon after. The ceremony was full of jokes and laughter, perfectly matching the light-hearted happy attitude of both Bryan and Melissa. Before the reception, the couple took a quick trip with their bridal party to Hop Lot Brewery just around the corner. They toasted to the new couple and enjoyed their drinks under a canopy of the prettiest Fall colors. We returned to Aurora Cellars just in time for the reception. With a fun and energetic couple like Bryan and Melissa, their reception was bound to be a riot, and we were not disappointed. The night ended in an awesome dance party!
Congratulations Bryan and Melissa! We had a blast celebrating you!

David and Susan | Backyard Barn Wedding
If we were to find one word to describe David and Susan’s wedding day in one word, it would be: serene. This backyard barn wedding was the perfect setting for David and Susan to pledge their vows in front of family and friends.

David and Susan spent the morning getting ready in their farmhouse while wispy white clouds wove their way through blue sky and sunshine. Guests gathered and waited outside the beautiful red barn before the ceremony. Stunning in her satin dress, Susan made her way down the aisle to her handsome groom. There was something so beautiful and intimately romantic about the way he spoke so softly to her during the day. David and Susan were at home in each other's arms. You could see it reflected in their faces, the way they held hands, and how he so delicately and gently helped her with her dress throughout the day. The night ended in an epic downpour while guests danced to local musician Levi Britton staying cozy and safe in the barn.
It was an honor to witness and capture their love and celebration.
Congratulations!

Ciccone Vineyard | Byron and Phoebe
Byron and Phoebe’s wedding day was absolutely magical. Something about wandering through a vineyard in the prettiest tulle dress with your lover by your side feels ever so romantic, am I right?
Byron and Phoebe chose to save their first look moment for that walk down the aisle. From the moment they saw each other, you could tell it took a lot to hold back the tears. There was no preventing it, however, once Byron began reading his vows to Phoebe. But we welcome the tears! Whether it’s reading your vows, walking down the aisle, the first dance, or simply looking out during the day to realize just how loved you are by all your friends and family--emotions hold a special space on your wedding day and you should welcome them in. We love capturing it so in years to come you can look back on your day and relive some of those beautiful moments together.
After the ceremony, Byron and Phoebe chose the 10-minute rule to soak in that ‘we just got married’ feeling alone. We shot between the vines from far away as they spent their first moments together as husband and wife!
Later during the reception, Phoebe’s off-the-shoulder tulle sleeves came right off so she had the freedom and movement to dance the night away with her guests. And dance she did!
