Sitting here in the middle of a winter storm, our minds are miles away dreaming about spring and summer, and all that inevitably comes with it. Golden sunshine and late sunsets, butterflies and blooming wildflower fields, our feet in the sand as waves meet the shore.

Dan and Lauren picked the perfect summer evening for their engagement photos at Maple Bay. Shot on a variety of digital and film, these photos tell a piece of their story that we are so honored to have been a part of. We get to celebrate them for their wedding later this year and we are counting down the days.

Luke + Katherine | Glen Haven Engagement

Luke and Katherine have a love that is so radiant it’s a wonder to behold.

Our first time meeting face to face as at their engagement session in Glen Haven. Here we got to witness first hand how these two loved each other—with depth, with honesty, and with romantic intensity.

We spent the evening laughing hard, climbing the dunes, and photographing the insane chemistry between the two of them.

As the sun set them aglow in a deep crimson, Luke and Katherine held each other close and drank it all in: the sunset, the peaceful quiet of the evening, and the countdown until their wedding day.

Joel + Emily | Traverse City Engagement

It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend when we met up with Joel and Emily in Traverse City for their engagement photos. They brought along their dog, Finley to join in the fun. We walked around the trails at Olsen Bridge, played fetch with Finley, and found the prettiest bush absolutely overflowing with lilacs. We enjoyed our time getting to know Joel and Emily and their story as we looked forward to their wedding the following month.

Connor + Christine Engagement | Maple Bay Natural Area

It was a crisp spring evening when we met up with Connor and Christine for the first time at Maple Bay Natural Area for their engagement photos. Despite the chilly bite in the air, Connor and Christine embraced the night and kept each other close for warmth. We meandered through the fields and woods before finally ending on the beach. The faintest glow from the sun attempted to peak through the clouds as Connor and Christine held each other, listening to the peaceful sound of small waves lapping the shoreline.

Brady + Alexa | Romantic Traverse City Engagement

I (Sarah) went to school with Alexa growing up so I was absolutely overjoyed to see her name pop up in our inbox inquiring about engagement photos. We spent golden hour wandering around the most beautiful areas in Brown Bridge Quiet Area. Photographing these two and their love together felt straight out of a movie. With the sun flare and slow motion, passionate kisses, this engagement session had our romantic hearts a-fluttering. It was a joy to capture this small part in Brady and Alexa’s love story.

Wildflower Engagement | Jordan + Paige | Port Oneida

Jordan and Paige’s wildflower engagement is hands down one of our top five favorite engagement photo shoots. From the dreamy wildflowers to the romantic picnic (complete with wine from their winery wedding venue), to the glowing sunset on the beach—it was nothing less than THE perfect spring day. You would never even guess that when we first arrived to Port Oneida the sky was dark and cloudy and it had started to drizzle. These two were willing to brave the weather and we were thankfully met with only the slightest rainy mist. It felt like a movie as Jordan and Paige traipsed through the prettiest wildflower fields hand in hand. Our hearts were so full to photograph the love between these two and we are counting down the days until we can celebrate with them on their wedding day.
