Bryan + Alexa | Cathedral Barns
Bryan and Alexa’s wedding day was a beautiful combination of warmth and whimsy. With an emphasis on nature and florals, Traverse City’s Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park set the perfect tone for their garden-party themed day. A backdrop of crawling vines and abundant blooms, Bryan and Alexa met for their first look in the walled garden.
Bryan and Alexa as a couple are just like their wedding day: warm, romantic, and full of love— not only for each other, but every single one of their guests. We met them first for their engagement session months previous, and entered into their wedding day with such eager anticipation, where we were once again blown away by their authenticity and kind-heartedness. To know them is to love them and what a JOY it is to know them.

A backdrop of crawling vines and abundant blooms, Bryan and Alexa met for their first look in the walled garden. Peeking over the edge of the wall, their closest friends and family cheered them on and the celebration began. Glasses of champagne ushered in their guests to their seats, which curved along the stone floor of their ceremony location—the Labyrinth. Emotions swelled as Alexa traipsed down the aisle to her soon-to-be husband. A promise of forever, an exchange of rings, and an exuberant shout of hurrah from their guests as they were pronounced husband and wife.
The rest of the day could have passed by in a flurry, but Bryan and Alexa made a point to slow down, take every moment in together, and connect with all of their guests. We ended the night in the stunning Cathedral Barn, documenting the most lively dance party including but not limited to: matching heart sunglasses, foam glow sticks, and limbo.
Congratulations B+A—it is an honor to know you and to celebrate you. We’ll be dreaming about your day forever & ever.

Grace | Boardman Lake Sailing Senior Photos
Grace and her parents reached out for senior photos with a fun request— a way to tie in Grace’s love of sailing. After rescheduling twice due to the weather, we ended up with the most beautiful blue sky evening for Grace’s senior portraits. We had so much fun with Grace and her family around the TACS and Boardman Lake area photographing her in a way that was so unique to her. Thanks to her parents to taking us out on a boat so we could capture her sailing up close.

2024 in Review | our year on film
traverse city film photographers
2024 was our busiest year as wedding photographers. It made for a busy summer but in an effort to slow down and savor our time as a family, Sarah and I decided to ditch our digital cameras for our family moments and bring our film cameras along for the ride. We love film because it seems to draw your attention back to what really matters, the moments passing before you and the people around you. We‘re less focused on creating the perfect image or composition, or the editing that follows digital photography.
All photos shot on film by Miles + Sarah using Canon AE-1, Canon Rebel X, and Argus C44.
Ben + Samantha | Intimate Cottage Wedding
Northern Michigan is where Ben and Sam said ‘I love you’ for the first time. It holds a special place in their hearts so they didn’t skip a beat when it came to planning their wedding up North. It was an honor to document their people, their love, and their celebration on such a special day.
Northern Michigan is where Ben and Sam said ‘I love you’ for the first time. It holds a special place in their hearts so they didn’t skip a beat when it came to planning their wedding up North. They said their vows surrounded by twenty of their closest friends and family atop a hill overlooking Suttons Bay. From there, we joined the party at Sam’s parents’ cottage in Northport for an intimate gathering. They celebrated over dinner served by a local chef, toasted with glasses of red and white, and danced to a local musician on the patio while the sun dipped lazily toward the horizon. We feel so honored to know Ben and Sam and to have documented their people, their love, and their celebration on such a special day.

Bay Harbor Golf Club Wedding | Remington + Hannah
Remington and Hannah’s Bay Harbor Golf Club wedding took place on the most quintessential summer day. The lake was a deep blue with a clear blue sky, save for a few perfectly formed fluffy white clouds. Classic white flowers and chairs adored the patio where their ceremony was set up. Remington and Hannah stood at the end of the aisle, stark against the colors of the day while they said their vows to one another.

Inside the golf club: toasts, dinner, cake, drinks, dancing, and late night pizza kept the party going all night long.

Pyramid Point | Dan + Anna Engagement
When we arrived to Port Oneida to meet up with Dan and Anna for their engagement session, we could see blue sky and sunshine. But suddenly and quickly, a mass of dark storm clouds began approaching—all the weather apps warned of imminent and heavy rain. With Dan and Anna on their way already, we decided to embrace the evening—come what may.

But suddenly and quickly, a mass of dark storm clouds began approaching—all the weather apps warned of imminent and heavy rain. With Dan and Anna on their way already, we decided to embrace the evening—come what may. We photographed along the beach, the threat of rain steadily approaching behind us, but these two had not a care in the world—they were totally and completely focused on one another.
A quick outfit change later, we felt certain the rain would cut our session short but decided to adventure to the top of Pyramid Point regardless. Even if we got rained out, it would be an adventure to remember.
However, we were all completely stunned when the clouds parted at the last second, allowing for the most dazzlingly bright orange sunset we had ever seen. We could not have asked for a more perfect romantic ending to the night.
