Harbor Springs Elopement | George + Chelsea
Both George and Chelsea are competitive sailors so it was really important for them to incorporate this in their elopement photos. Their friend took us out in a boat while George and Chelsea sailed beautifully across the water in their stunning sailboat. It was such a fun and unique experience for us and we were so glad to capture something so special to the two of them.
We were so honored to photograph this unique and intimate elopement in Harbor Springs for George and Chelsea. We met the at their house where they were getting ready for their first look. Underneath the willow tree, Chelsea approached her soon to be husband and called out his name. George turned around and breathlessly took his bride in, resulting in the sweetest happy tears between them both. Their pups joined them a few moments later for a couple portraits before we set off for the vows.
Their friend officiated the ceremony for them on the water and behind them, at the end of the dock, sat their sailboat waiting. Afterward, we wrapped up with some portraits at the yacht club before the two of them rode their bikes downtown as they headed toward the restaurant for their intimate dinner for two.
Castle Farms Wedding | Tim + Sara | Charlevoix
Tim and Sara's wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, Michigan was practically a fairytale. I mean, can you really expect anything less when you are getting married at a castle?!
Tim and Sara's wedding at Castle Farms in Charlevoix, Michigan was practically a fairytale. I mean, can you really expect anything less when you are getting married at a castle?!
Sara had the sweetest first look with her son in lieu of a first look with Tim. Her son's reaction to seeing his mom as such a beautiful bride was simply precious. We were already getting emotional and they had only just begun!
At one end of the courtyard, Tim awaited his bride for the ceremony. She glided elegantly down the aisle to meet him. After they said their vows, together with Sara's son and Tim's daughter, they lit a unity candle to symbolize their families uniting as one.
They spent their reception in a gorgeously lit ballroom for their cake cutting, a couple emotional speeches, and their first dances. We snuck them out during sunset for a few more portraits around the castle's stunning scenery. They rejoined their reception with a sparkler 're-entrance' just as the sun was setting and spent the rest of the night dancing with their friends and family.

Marc and Isabel | Intimate Backyard Wedding
Flowing at the edge of the backyard was a sweet little creek, now almost overflowing because of the heavy rains from the night before. And just in the center of the creek, connected to the main yard by a little bridge, sat the sweetest little island. Here is where they gathered hand in hand, for their wedding ceremony to commit their lives to one another.
After a rainstorm the previous night, the drive out to Marc and Isabel's intimate backyard wedding was quite the adventure. Our little Honda Civic bravely made the journey through deeply flooded dirt roads leaving her mud-caked by the end of the night. But the drive was well worth it when we arrived at the beautiful property where Marc and Isabel were planning to say their vows. They read their vows through teary eyes and were united as husband and wife before their closest family and friends. Marc and Isabel, it was an honor to be invited into such an intimate day and to celebrate and document the love you have for each other.

Peter + Sarah | Creekside Acres
Everything about Peter and Sarah’s wedding was dreamy. Colorful florals all around, a perfectly blue sky, and the couple themselves– I mean, c’mon–we can’t say enough good things about Peter and Sarah!

It was a mini road trip for us down to Creekside Acres, but it was a beautiful day for it. When we arrived, we were welcomed by both of them like we were old friends. Peter quickly had us laughing at his goofy faces and lighthearted jokes and Sarah was a kindred spirit. Both of them were grinning ear to ear all day.
I was shooting through tears during their first look because Peter and Sarah's emotional reaction to seeing one another had me choked up as well. Just look at how they look at each other!
Both Peter and Sarah are avid rafters so it only made sense they had their rafting instructor marry them. It was a beautiful and emotional wedding day all the way through. We were honored to capture their day and their love.

Jon + Hannah | Ciccone Vineyard Wedding
It was a long awaited day by many involved and we were so happy to be there to document it. From getting ready at the Park Place Hotel with a stunning view, to a perfect ceremony underneath a huge tree at Ciccone Vineyard. Everyone was so excited to finally celebrate Jon and Hannah.
Jon and Hannah were one of the many couples who had to reschedule their big wedding celebrations in 2020. The two of them decided to get married at the courthouse on their original date, but pushed back the party with all their friends and family until 2021. Brandon and Allie | Ciccone Vineyard
Brandon and Allie's wedding day began with dark clouds and a heavy thunderstorm but ended with the most magnificent sunset.
Brandon and Allie's wedding day began with dark clouds and a heavy thunderstorm but ended with the most magnificent sunset.
We packed our umbrellas with all of our gear and made our way to meet them at their prep location. They decided to do their first look underneath a covered porch to keep themselves as dry as possible. After that, the rain let up enough to do bridal party portraits outside.
However, when we arrived at Ciccone Vineyard for their ceremony set up, the clouds let loose to an extreme downpour. We took cover inside the barn where Brandon and Allie along with their wedding planner, made the decision to move their ceremony under a tent. Despite the rain, Ciccone was the perfect venue.
Just after the ceremony, the clouds parted to sunshine and Brandon and Allie snuck out to their original ceremony site for their ten-minute rule. We stayed back with our cameras to allow them some privacy while we documented them from afar as they soaked in their first few minutes as newlyweds.
After a while of busting some wicked moves on the dance floor, Brandon and Allie were ready for a break and breath of fresh air outside.
We love scheduling in a little window of time to sneak out for portraits during the reception. It allows us to capture some of the more intimate, romantic portraits beyond the the typical smiling at the camera ones earlier in the day. Bonus points when Northern Michigan gives us a night like this one with cotton candy clouds and the sun setting over the vineyard.
Take a look for yourself to see Brandon and Allie's magical golden hour portraits.
