Dane + Erin | Intimate Traverse City Wedding
Dane and Erin’s wedding was not a performance, but an honest and intentional celebration of everything and everyone they loved. We’re so honored when we are invited into weddings like theirs—so full of life and history. Every moment was thought out and intentional and every guest was someone who played a part in their story in some way or another. Congratulations to these two!!
From a wedding dress and veil that had been so lovingly passed down to her, to getting married in her grandparent’s backyard with one of their closest friends officiating: Dane and Erin’s wedding was not a performance, but an honest and intentional celebration of everything and everyone they loved.
The emotions were palpable as Erin got ready with her girls; nerves and butterflies and giddy excitement in the air as she whisked away her wedding dress to her grandparents house where she would finish getting dressed. It was here that we found Dane outside, greeting their guests with his characteristic smile and relaxed demeanor.
Nestled underneath a great willow in the backyard, chairs adorned the back patio facing the arbor where Dane and Erin said their vows. They practically flew back down the aisle as husband and wife, grinning ear to ear with so much joy and happiness.
Cocktail hour progressed in the front yard with everyone mingling while the backyard was being transformed into an intimate and beautiful reception scene. Tables lined the patio when everyone began to take their seat for toasts, dinner, dancing, ice cream, and quality conversation.
We’re so honored when we are invited into weddings like Dane and Erin’s, so full of life and history. Every moment was thought out and intentional and every guest was someone who played a part in their story in some way or another. Congratulations to these two!!

Paul + Aleah | Traverse City Wedding
Settled in the woods overlooking the water sat the charming cottage home that Aleah grew up in. Every corner of the home was filled with character and intention. Curated with antique ornate frames, old books, and the most romantically decorated rooms, it was the perfect setting for Paul and Aleah’s wedding.
When Paul and Aleah reached out, their plans were coming together quickly with a date set only a few weeks out.
The had a dream and vision and it all came to life so beautifully.

Curated with antique ornate frames, old books, and the most romantically decorated rooms, it was the perfect setting for Paul and Aleah’s wedding.
Upstairs in her childhood bedroom, Aleah was a Jackie Kennedy inspired vision of a bride. After settling on the perfect earrings and grabbing her bouquet, she came out to the balcony where Paul caught his first glimpse at his bride. Later, beneath a colorful canopy of trees Paul awaited his bride. Her aisle: a stone archway seemingly straight out of a storybook and steps that led down the path to her groom.
To create thoughtful, artful portraits of the two of them in such a beautiful and personal location was a very special privilege. We are so thankful to have been invited to witness and celebrate and be a part of Paul and Aleah’s story.

Nick + Ann | Walloon Lake Inn
Nick and Ann’s intimate wedding celebration took place in the beautiful Walloon Lake Inn. After the downpour had cleared, the sun returned, bringing with it a rainbow that stood out against the dark storm clouds.
Nick and Ann’s intimate wedding celebration took place in the beautiful Walloon Lake Inn. Ann got ready and dressed with her mother and bridesmaids at the Hotel Walloon before we took some bridal portraits down the hall against the wall of gilded mirrors. From there we made the short walk down the street to the Walloon Lake Inn where the rest of the festivities were to occur. With rain on the forecast, Nick and Ann said their vows on the front lawn under the shelter of a tent. And the rain did eventually come. After the downpour had cleared, the sun returned, bringing with it a rainbow that stood out against the dark storm clouds. Nick and Ann with their bridal party, made the walk back to Hotel Walloon for a breath of fresh air and some portraits by the water.
After dinner, everyone moved to the dance floor outside where sunset hues of pink and purple illuminated the sky behind them. Everything about Nick and Ann’s wedding day was beautiful and we loved being a part of telling their love story.

Marc and Isabel | Intimate Backyard Wedding
Flowing at the edge of the backyard was a sweet little creek, now almost overflowing because of the heavy rains from the night before. And just in the center of the creek, connected to the main yard by a little bridge, sat the sweetest little island. Here is where they gathered hand in hand, for their wedding ceremony to commit their lives to one another.
After a rainstorm the previous night, the drive out to Marc and Isabel's intimate backyard wedding was quite the adventure. Our little Honda Civic bravely made the journey through deeply flooded dirt roads leaving her mud-caked by the end of the night. But the drive was well worth it when we arrived at the beautiful property where Marc and Isabel were planning to say their vows. They read their vows through teary eyes and were united as husband and wife before their closest family and friends. Marc and Isabel, it was an honor to be invited into such an intimate day and to celebrate and document the love you have for each other.
